Looking for photography for your business? Whether its branding, event, headshots, I cover it all! This photoshoot took place across 3 locations in Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley and Aptos. They needed a mixture of candid photos of the therapists in action and a few headshots that would match the other headshots they had from the past for their new hires. Mission accepted! I only posted a few photo samples here because I don’t want to violate any privacy of their clients, but we did get signatures from most of them. For me the challenge in a shoot like this is that I don’t want to disrupt the actual workflow or cause any distraction to the therapists or their clients, so I chose to use a prime telephoto lens so I could stay in the background and not need the use of any flash. From there its a matter of finding the right light! With a few clients that I chatted with and became friends with while they were waiting for their appointment, I made sure to get the okay to get in closer with my wide angle prime to get some more dynamic style shots as well. In the middle of this we found some downtime to go outside and do a few headshots, the previous employees had their headshots on the wall so I could see exactly the type of lighting/background they were looking for and match that with the new ones I was taking, so when it all goes up on the wall together it will be cohesive. I enjoy these kind of shoots just as much as my portraits, weddings and events.

Another consideration for me when editing these type of photos is the style - when I do portraits and weddings I tend to have a moody, dramatic style of editing that can be described as dreamlike at times. When it comes to branding, corporate, or headshots I completely switch that style up both in the way I take the photos and in the way I edit them. Here its more about having a clear, bold image that conveys what the business needs.
