If you follow my journal you know that I love this beach! When it comes to surprise proposals in Big Sur, Pfeiffer Beach is one of my top 3 and you can easily see why from these photos! If you’re looking for a photographer for a surprise engagement then keep reading!  I helped plan this one out meticulously because it was a popular time to be at this beach and you really have to know what you’re doing to get the right spot for lighting, visuals, and no random people walking through the background ruining everything! Not just that but also not blowing their cover as I get into position. Once everything was all set up and the surprise proposal happened right in front of the keyhole arch, she was SHOCKED, and I mean completely stunned. I capture some incredible shots of the moments that unfolded.

Another surprise engagement captured perfectly! I’ve done so many surprise proposals at Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur that I know right when the sun will be blocked behind the keyhole arch to create that magical glow with no hard shadows, and I got them into the perfect spot at just the right time. After the big moment, we had so much fun exploring the beach and taking engagement photos!
